New build house
Our client wanted to create a contemporary living space for him and his family within an existing 1960's detached house. The initial design was to extend and extensively re-order the internal layout of the existing house, which we obtained planning permission for. We then submitted a planning application for the existing house to be demolished and a new timber framed house to be erected.

Due to planning requirements and restrictive covenant rules, the new house had to look exactly the same as the extended existing house with the same external materials and size. Planning permission was successfully achieved which meant our client could have a new energy efficient home which was much better insulated, heated by a heat pump with solar panels on the roof.
The internal layout reflected the way they wanted to live as a family boasting a large open plan living, kitchen and dining area to the rear with large glass doors opening up to the rear garden. The house retained separate rooms to allow for smaller more snug spaces with a new log burner installed to retreat o in an evening.
