​This extension needed to add open plan family space in the form of a larger dining area to link with the existing kitchen and a snug seating area. Due to the topography of the site and the higher level of the rear garden large glass sliding doors were specified to let in plenty of natural light while allowing plenty of access between the extension and the brick retaining walls.​ The zinc external cladding allowed distinctiveness from the existing house with the sloping roof giving a vaulted ceiling over the dining area and the opportunity to specify roof lights to bring natural light into the existing kitchen.​
